A rare combination of pink and green giving a double shaded effect with a tint of grey on the surface of this exquisite handwoven saree from the weavers of Anekal, Karnataka from Priyadarshini Handlooms, KHDC. This silk saree is a result of the classic handloom method of weaving combined with modern design forms. The double shaded saree body has paisleys and leaf patterns woven as zari buttis. A broad border is designed with floral patterns in golden zari. The intricacy in the hand weaving of this saree is seen on the saree pallu which is designed with exotic flowers woven with thin outlines in bright silk yarns. Pink tassels adorn the ends of the saree pallu. The Karnataka handloom development corporation (KHDC) is a govt. organisation that manages the traditional handloom weavers from across the rural areas of Karnataka. They encourage the ancient techniques of weaving by providing assistance with raw materials and means to trade.
