Red warp and green weft interwoven on a handloom by the Y. N. Hoskote, Karnataka of Priyadarshini Handlooms, KHDC. This silk saree is a result of the classic handloom method of weaving combined with modern design forms. Double shaded red and green saree body is woven with small zari motifs and traditional floral paisley zari border. Bands of zari paisley and floral stripes are woven for the pallu of this silk saree. The karnataka handloom development corporation (KHDC) is a govt. organisation that manages the traditional handloom weavers from across the rural areas of Karnataka. They encourage the ancient techniques of weaving by providing assistance with raw materials and means to trade.
